Consider with Aisha Ross

1 What fills your heart up?
1 It is incredible connecting with other creatives and customers whether it is over social media or in person. I am a pretty social person so something I really missed during quarantine was having conversations with strangers (sounds weird), but it really fills my heart up. The ocean makes me feel calm and at peace. I dream of summer days where I am at the beach with friends surfing, bbq-ing and truly enjoying each other’s company. I love the feeling of salty sun-kissed skin.
Lastly, my family, friends, and pup Willie Blue makes my heart full. My pup really is my emotional support animal and it has been so lovely to have him by my side during quarantine. He comes with me everywhere including thrifting and selling at flea markets. We're best friends.

2 How do you try to live a more sustainable lifestyle?
2 I stand by “Less Is More” now more than ever. Obviously, with my company, it goes without saying that I mostly shop secondhand. More than half my closet is being taken up by vintage and thrifted pieces and I could not be happier about that. If I’m not thrifting, then I am buying from a small business. I know how much it means to a small business when someone supports you. I love finding new businesses and connecting with people.
Anything I can do at home to be more sustainable, whether it is investing in metal straws, beeswax wraps, recycling, etc. I’ve been trying to do more of my grocery shopping at the farmer’s market because I truly just enjoy being at the farmer’s market and supporting them.

3 Is there anything you currently collect and why?
3 Yes, vintage Levis. I didn’t even know I “collect” denim until I had to dedicate part of my hallway closet to my denim—I actually have been meaning to get rid of some to sell.
I found myself wearing denim constantly because I was always running around doing errands and never wanted to ruin my nice trousers or dresses. When you collect vintage it is easy to keep it, but also the best part is I can sell it when I’m done with it. The beauty of secondhand!!

4 What is the best gift you've ever been given?
4 If you know me, then you know I am obsessed with giving people gifts. I love giving gifts way more than I like to receive them. I get so much joy out of people’s reactions which is probably why I also love surprising people so much. This past Christmas I designed a custom jacket for my boyfriend. I have drawn an endless amount of designs in my life so it was pretty surreal to see one of my designs come to life.
5 What are you most thankful for?
5 Gosh, so many things. I am beyond thankful for the support this community has given me. I have always been someone who has advocated for doing something you love even if it means less income. This was a huge risk for me to take "Less Is More" full time, but I am the happiest I have ever been.
I am thankful for my family for always supporting my creative endeavors and pushing me to challenge myself. I wouldn’t be who I am today without them.
