1 What fills your heart up?
1 Spending time with my friends fills my heart up like nothing else. I feel so lucky to have the friends I do, sometimes I can’t even believe it. People I’ve known for years and never lost touch with, new friends that I’ve made since moving to Seattle 5 years ago, all incredible, beautiful, amazingly talented people I feel #blessed to know. Cooking for myself and cooking for people I love fills my heart up as well. Flipping through cookbooks searching for the perfect recipe, walking to the market to gather up the ingredients, and then lovingly prepping and cooking a nourishing meal is one of my love languages.

2 Describe a scent that makes you feel a memory.
2 Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel drudges up the most specific memories for me from high school all the way through college. Specifically nostalgic memories of Fall in Arizona, starting a new semester, going to house parties, backyard bonfires. It used to be my signature scent and I just recently ordered a new bottle to bring all those memories back and remind myself of things I’ve probably forgotten about.
3 What are your simplest pleasures?
3 Opening all the windows in my apartment and enjoying the breeze, a bagel in bed rewatching Sex and the City for the umpteenth time, getting home from being out, hugging my cat and immediately putting on sweatpants before curling up on the couch with a movie or show.
4 What are you curious about learning?
4 I really want to learn to speak Spanish fluently. I’m Mexican American and didn’t grow up in a Spanish speaking household. I’ve always felt a level of guilt for not being disciplined enough to learn it, but most importantly I think it would make me feel more connected to my roots.

5 Describe a sound that makes you feel calm.
5 There’s something so calming and special about the the sound of rainfall at night mixed with the quiet of my apartment, hustle and bustle of traffic, and red glow of the street lights that soothes me like nothing else.
