1   Describe an art form or medium that piques your interest and why.

1   In the form of visual art, photography was my first love. I love the way it captures a moment that can never be repeated. There's something magical about that. Photographs are little time capsules frozen with a click of the shutter—a story told with each one.

2   What fills your heart up?

2   Being creative fills my heart up. From a young age, I've always been involved in at least one project at any given time: writing, drawing, photographing, filming, decorating, exploring my backyard. It's when I'm fully immersed into a creative project that time loses all meaning and I am all-consumed with joy.

3   What does self-care look like to you?

3   Self-care is more of a mindset to me than anything else. It's not only doing your skincare, exercising, and eating healthy. It's the way you talk to yourself 24/7, the way you treat others, what you consume—figuratively and literally, it's the environment you surround yourself with.

4   What is a meaningful keepsake you own?

4   My maternal grandmother gave me a pink lily from her garden in Florida that she pressed and framed. It's such a small, dainty frame that I have displayed on my dresser. It looks so delicate and beautiful. Similar to photography, I love how pressing flowers freezes time and preserves the moment forever.

5   Is there anything you currently collect and why?

5   I collect pieces of nature from places I go. I'll take home sea glass and seashells from the beach, rocks from the desert, flowers from a garden, etc. I love the idea of taking home something from the Earth since it's charged with energy. It makes me feel like I'm taking home more than just a keepsake, something that is intrinsically tied to the location. It reminds me of the symbiotic relationship we have with nature and is more meaningful to me than the monetary transaction of purchasing a souvenir.
